ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME

Why it matters.

For families with little income, the cost of a wedding can mean years of debt. Our community marriage programme (gonobibaho) lets couples begin their life together with dignity.

The society arranges the ceremony, traditional attire and gifts for the new households, and the whole village comes together to celebrate.

What we do

  • Mass wedding ceremonies with traditional rituals
  • Wedding attire and essential gifts for each couple
  • Household items to help new families get started
  • A community feast shared with families and guests
