MISSION & VISION

Why we do
what we do.

Since 2007, Sundarban Binodpur Shibom Society has worked alongside the people of the Sundarbans. Our mission, vision and values keep every camp, every distribution and every visit focused on the people we serve.

WHAT WE DO

Our Mission

To stand beside the people of the Sundarbans β€” especially children, women, the elderly and families in hardship β€” with health care, education, food and timely relief, delivered with dignity and in partnership with the community.

WHERE WE ARE GOING

Our Vision

A Sundarbans where every family is healthy, every child can learn, no one is left hungry or alone in difficult times, and communities live in harmony with the forests and rivers they call home.

Our core values

  • Dignity

Every person we meet is treated with respect. Support should empower people, not define them.

  • Community

We listen first and work alongside villagers, volunteers and local leaders.

  • Transparency

Registered accounts, published certificates and honest reporting to every donor.

  • Compassion

We reach those who are often missed β€” the elderly, the homeless and those living alone.

  • Continuity

We return to the same villages year after year, building trust and lasting change.

OUR OBJECTIVES

What we work towards.

These objectives shape the programmes we run and the way we use every contribution.

  1. Organise free health camps, blood donation drives and hygiene awareness in remote villages
  2. Support children's education with school bags, learning materials and study circles
  3. Provide food, clothing and essential supplies to families in hardship
  4. Deliver winter and emergency relief after cyclones and floods
  5. Help disadvantaged couples begin married life through community weddings
  6. Encourage care for the Sundarbans environment and community harmony

OUR APPROACH

How we work with communities.

  1. Listen

We visit villages and speak with families, teachers and local leaders to understand real needs.

  2. Plan together

Volunteers and community members plan each camp, distribution or event together.

  3. Act on the ground

Our team delivers support directly in the village, with no middlemen.

  4. Return & follow up

We come back, check on families and improve the next programme.
